Explore Black Philanthropy with a spring mixer: Wednesday at Marvin

DC Blacks Give Back

a spring mixer bringing together professionals in nonprofits and philanthropy

Join us for a spring happy hour and networking event at Marvin, located in the heart of the vibrant U Street neighborhood!

Inspired by the story of Marvin Gaye's infamous two years in Belgium, Marvin boasts one of DC's best lounges and rooftop decks. We invite you to connect with us and learn how you can get involved with three organizations that are supporting the philanthropic Black community. Grab a drink from the cash bar, mingle with fellow changemakers and dine on a delectable menu of complimentary appetizers:
  • chicken & waffles
  • goat cheese croquettes
  • chicken-fried shrimp
Marvin is located one block west of the U Street/Cardozo/Shaw metro on the Green/Yellow line (exit the metro using the 13th Street exit). There is a suggested donation of $10. All proceeds will go to benefit Black Benefactors, a giving circle that provides grants to organizations serving African American children, youth and families in the DC area.

You can visit the co-hosting organization's websites at:
This event is sponsored by the African American Nonprofit Network, Black Benefactors and the Black Philanthropic Alliance.
