New Wale track with Pharell, N.E.R.D adds female member

Washington D.C.’s very own, Wale, has just released a new song off of his debut album, Attention Deficit, scheduled to be released on November 3rd. This new song, Inhibitions, feature’s N.E.R.D. frontman and one half of The Neptunes, Pharrell Williams.

N.E.R.D adds female singer, Rhea

The boys from VA are adding Canadian singer Rhea to their ranks to help complement their sound for their forth album, Instant Gratification, scheduled for release for 2010.

In addition to studio recording, Rhea will join the band on upcoming tours.
Right now, let's hope Rhea serves as a true vocal talent rather than an sexified token.
Don't get me wrong, I love Pharrell and all things N.E.R.D. but I'm up in the air on what a female band member will bring.  

Fan reaction has been mixed. Okay, that's generous, people don't like it.

Let's give the girl a chance. Hope she does more than shake her ass.
I say that only because I see more naked pics of her than I can find of the girl singing.



From reports, Pharrell is incredibly excited about the new dimension that Rhea, who is classically trained, will bring to their brand of music. In an interview, Skateboard P said this about his new bandmate and the music they've experimented with so far,

“Musically, we’re just somewhere else. The music is now very 3D. It’s something you have to hear. But you’ll see.”

Pharrell went on to say that “The music is very three-dimensional. We’re just really excited. We feel like N.E.R.D has always been the punks of hip-hop and the outcasts of alternative music – just a little different. But this time, we’re taking no prisoners.” 

Rhea lives in Toronto and met the band, Pharrell, Shae and Chad, only once before auditioning for them on Skype. She auditioned to His Eye is On the Sparrow.


Rhea attended the Berklee College of music in Boston, relocated to New York to pursue her music career. She has appeared in commercials for Cover Girl, Diet Pepsi & McDonalds and others.
