Poetry Series Installment: For Valentine's Day

For Valentine's Day (circa 1996)

Which lips would I kiss?
Where the corners turned up when you looked at me
Did I feel your moustache against my lips
Why is your head downcast?

What does that look mean
Close your eyes
Dream your world
Smile
Look far off
Smell the world

I can hear
What do you hear
You- ear of a new born baby,
I feel the shadow of your beard
I hear the clatter of the day
what did you say
The wind carries your words away from me

Which lips would I kiss
Which smile would I embrace
Your profile I admire

  1. A kiss. Sign of affection. A promise. A carrier of passion. You painted a picture with your moving words in this piece. A vivid picture you do paint.
